MOSCOW, June 12/ /ITAR-TASS/. In a telephone conversation with President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, June 12, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko informed him about his peace plan for the south-east of Ukraine.

“The president of Ukraine informed Vladimir Putin about his plan to settle the situation in the south-east of Ukraine,” presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“The presidents also discussed the development of bilateral relations,” he added.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said it was waiting for Russia’s reaction to Poroshenko’s plan for resolving the crisis in the south-east of the country.

“We are continuing our work towards a political and diplomatic resolution of the crisis in Ukraine and the conflict between Ukraine and Russia,” acting Foreign Minister Andrei Deshchitsa said at a news briefing on Thursday.

“The contact group has met. It worked out conceptual approaches towards implementation of this plan. We are now waiting for Russia’s response to his document,” he added.

He also noted that the president maintained “constant telephone contact with many international partners”.
