MOSCOW, July 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said there are all reasons for hoping that Kiev and representatives of the Donetsk People’s Republic will hold a video conference shortly.

“I hope that the tragedy will allow the parties to forget about political ambitions,” Lavrov told Rossiya24 Channel on Friday.

Russia will insist on an objective, transparent and independent investigation in the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 crash, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told Rossiya24 Channel.

“We’ll be ready to make our contribution. Of course, we believe that an initiative should be put forth by the authorities of the country where the tragedy occurred,” Lavrov said on Friday.

“I’ve not heard true statements from Kiev in the latest months,” he said.

Boeing-777 on the way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in Ukraine on Thursday. All 298 people abroad the airliner died in the air crash. This death toll also takes into account three newborns.
